| 16.DEC.04 | The Manhassett Yacht Club Fall Regatta saw Kincsem (J. Esdorn, 10) beat out Eclipse (D. Emery, 11) by one point. Gumption3 (K. Grainger, 16) was third in the six race event. | 26.OCT.04 | The Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta at Larchmont Yacht Club concluded with an 11 boat J/105 division that was kindly provided by Fleet 6 members. Complete results are at the STC website. The last distance race of the season saw Gumption3 win the J/105 grouping at the Gearbuster. Racing this weekend is at the Manhassett Yacht Club. This Fall classic concludes next weekend. | |
| 15.OCT.04 | Racing in the American Yacht Club Fall Regatta concluded in light and shifting winds that saw Eclipse (Emery, 7). easily sail away with the title. Kincsem (Esdorn, 19) and Mack Daddy (Rose, 27) followed. This year, combined scores in the AYC and Manhassett Bay regattas are also used to determine a Fall Championship trophy. The Storm Trysail Club is running the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta on October 9th and 10th at Larchmont Yacht Club using J/105s that Fleet 6 members, and others, have kindly provided. The last distance race of the season is the Gearbuster on October 9. | |
| 08.OCT.04 | Racing in the American Yacht Club Fall Regatta continues October 3,4. Racing this past weekend was limited to Saturday as a result of Sundays light winds. Current leaders are Eclipse, Kincsem and Gumption3. This year, combined scores in the AYC and Manhassett Bay regattas are also used to determine a Fall Championship trophy. The Storm Trysail Club is looking for owners and/or a representative to race with a collegiate sailing team on their boat for their Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta on October 9th and 10th. They already have a number of J105’s, but are still in need of a few boats. | 28.SEP.04 | Racing in the Fleet 6 championship schedule resumes this weekend with the American Yacht Club Fall Regatta, September 25, 26 and October 3,4. This year, combined scores in the AYC and Manhassett Bay regattas are also used to determine a Fall Championship trophy. Racing at the Greenwich Cup was limited due to severe weather, but Gumption3 (Grainger) held on to win in the J/105 class. At the North Americans, Jeorg Esdorn's Kincsem finished 3rd in the 52 boat fleet. Other Fleet 6 boats included Eclipse (6th, Emery), Phantom (8th, Lague) and Mack Daddy (11th, Rose)

| 22.SEP.04 | Eclipse (Emery, 17) won the Sailing World LYC NOOD regatta in a six race regatta with no throwouts. Moonshine (Leicht, 20) was a close second followed by Conundrum (Leggett, 35). Eighteen boats competed in the J/105 fleet that raced the weekend dates only. LYC NOOD Results The J/105 North American Championship is September 16-19.Other races of note include the Greenwich Cup this coming weekend. | 14.SEP.04 | Additional J/105 races that you may want to consider include the Toyota-YRALIS Championships (Riverside YC, Greenwich, CT) on August 28 and 29, 2004. This event will include phrf racing with a one-design start for J/105s if enough entries are received. In addition, the Knickerbocker Yacht Club is again hosting the Knickerbocker Cup this Sept 1-6 in Manhassett Bay aboard J/105s. They are still in need of a few more J/105s to complete the fleet, and are hoping that a few Fleet 6 members may be interested in partaking in this great Match Race event. This event is part of the distance racing series for our J/105 fleet and sails the shorter 'Cornfield' course. Also in September is the LYC NOOD Regatta, Sept. 11-12. The J/105 North American Championship is September 16-19. Eclipse (Emery, 9) handily won Larchmont Yacht Club's Race Week with 5 first and 3 second place finishes in the eight race regatta. Moonshine (Leicht, 27) was second followed by JoySea (Boylan, 33). Thirteen boats competed in the J/105 fleet. All results are found through the link at the left. | 29.JUL.04 | Cedar Point's Championship Regatta finished with 12 boats participating in a 5 race event. Eclipse (Emery, 7) took first with 3/6 first place finishes. Revelation (Lurie, 9) was second folowed by Tern (Coffey, 12). Gumption3 took line-honors in the J/105 division of the Stratford Shoal Race. The race is the first of three making up a distance series for Fleet 6. Eclipse won the Block Island Race Week trophy and is the only J/105 repeat winner in the history of the event. The season championship scoring summary finds Eclipse at the top followed by Kincsem and Revelation. Larchmont Yacht Club's Race Week is coming up July 17,18 and 24,25. Point Championship Regatta The 3rd
Annual Cedar Point Championship Regatta is
next on the schedule. The entry form is on our schedule webpage. It
will be held on Saturday July 10 & Sunday July 11, 2004. The CPYC
Championship regatta is a one-design regatta for the Mumm 30, J30,
J105, and J109 classes. The weekend will also include social activities to compliment the racing. The club is an ideal physical facility, with a clubhouse overlooking Long Island Sound and a private deepwater harbor. Dockage will be provided to participating yachts without charge. | |
| 09-Jul-04 | Port Jefferson Harbor Cup Eclipse won the Port Jefferson Hartbor Cup with a perfect set of first-place finishes in a four race regatta. Tern was second with Joysea winning third in a tiebreaker. The Stratford Shoal Race is Saturday, July 3. This is a race for the Fleet 6 distance series trophy. | 14.Jun.04 | Port Jefferson Harbor Cup The next event on the championship race schedule is the Port Jefferson Harbor Cup. This is always a fun event. Entry forms and other information are on the schedule web page. Memorial Day Regatta The Larchmont Yacht Club hosts a Memorial Day Regatta, May 29 and 30, that may be of interest to J/105 sailors. Greenwich Cup Regatta Revelation won the Greenwich Cup regatta, followed by Eclipse. Two boats vied for third place with identical scores - Tern got the spot on a tiebreaker. Racing Summaries Anyone interested in submitting summaries of race events, as viewed from your on-the-water perspective, is encouraged to do so. Please let any of the fleet officers know of your intention to do this and we will see that the information is promptly posted. The first summary would be the AYC April racing weekends. | 19.May.04 | AYC Regatta includes 27 J/105s The American Yacht Club Spring Series got off to a great start this past weekend. Kincsem leads with 3 bullets in 4 starts. Results have been posted on the AYC website. New this year - a Fleet 6 trophy is awarded to the top boats in the combined AYC/Greenwich Cup Spring Series.
